Saint Kateri (Lily of the Mowhawks)

She looks like Sophia Loren. Sculptured cheekbones and jawline. Saint Kateri Tekakwitha (1656-1680) is a Saint who was a Mowhawk lay woman. She was born in Ossernenon, south of the Mohawk River. She converted to Catholicism at the age of 19 after she contracted smallpox, her entire family died of the disease.

She was baptised Kateri after Saint Catherine of Siena. Her face was badly scarred, but at the age of 24, upon her death, the scars disappeared. Here Saint Kateri is captured as her most beautiful and radiant self.
